I am a research assistant under Dr Tang Feng Ru. The aim of our research is to study the physiological effects of irradiation on the brain and blood using mice as our animal model. We utilise gamma irradiation from Cs-137 source to administer chronic low and high dose irradiation exposure to pre-natal and post-natal mice to investigate changes in animal neurobehavioural, brain development and any relevant molecular biomarkers and mechanisms using different experimental approaches such as neurobehavioural tests, immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry.
