Hello, I’m Tan Tu Guang! Back in 2016, I spent two years in Tokyo doing my Master’s Degree, thanks to the SNRSI scholarship. After working at SNRSI for a few years in the Nuclear Safety Analysis Team, there was a consensus that Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an essential skillset both for myself and for the team. I am therefore once again enrolled as a student, this time back at NUS, where I received my B.Sc (Hons) in Physics about a decade ago.
My current research area is in the use of CFD to model the coolant flow in the reactor core, especially the turbulent flow around the spacer grids and mixing vanes. The work will not only contribute to our capabilities in reactor safety simulations, but also provide myself with a deeper understanding of fluid flow phenomena and a better appreciation for many of the simulation codes we use on a day to day basis.
If you are interested in my work, be it my current research or past projects, feel free to drop me an email at snrtatg@nus.edu.sg; I’m always happy to have a casual chat over a drink 🙂
