Hello, my name’s Izzat and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nuclear Science & Technology at The University of Manchester. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from The National University of Singapore in 2024.

The academic program at UoM offers a variety of specialised modules taught by industry professionals, which has allowed me to advance my keen interests in nuclear policy and governance frameworks while also developing technical competencies in environmental impact assessments and nuclear safety case development/management.

At the same time, I always enjoy a good discussion about current affairs. Especially with renewed interests for nuclear energy in Singapore and the ASEAN region, it will be interesting to monitor and study the region’s progress in terms of the IAEA Milestones Approach and the 19 Nuclear Infrastructure Issues for Newcomer Countries.
