Dr Ethan Wong Yew Hoe

I’m currently a Research Fellow at the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute (SNRSI), working across nuclear safety, advanced modelling, and applied machine learning. My work blends fluid dynamics, thermal engineering, and aerosol research to better understand and support reactor safety and national readiness. In Aug 2025, I completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, where the focus was on thermal fatigue in nuclear power plant T-junctions using a combination of high-fidelity CFD and physics-based machine learning methods such as PINNs and Bayesian Neural Networks. During my time at SNRSI, my goal is to bridge rigorous research with application-based engineering and contribute to evidence-based policy, education, and Singapore’s long-term energy resilience.
