Masters, Medical Radiation Physics

Hello! Thank you for visiting, or if you happen to stumble upon this page, welcome!

I am Jonathan who went to McGill to pursue a Masters in Medical Radiation Physics. To give you a brief introduction on my academic background, prior to my masters, I graduated with a honors degree from NUS, majoring in physics with a minor in medical physics. For my undergrad thesis, I worked on a GEANT4 simulation of secondary neutrons produced in proton therapy. Moving on to my masters thesis, my main work involved identifying DNA mutational signatures caused by radiation using single cell whole genome sequencing. Right now at SNRSI, I am working with our biodosimetry team to build our dicentric chromosome assay biodosimetry curve and to study the radio-protective effects of chronic low dose radiation on radiation of different LETs.

The beauty of medical physics marries the core concepts of physics and biology, and taught me a wide range of skills from software coding, solving hardcore mathematical equations in physics to preparing lab samples for DNA sequencing. I took a long route to get to where I am today and am fortunate to be able to contribute my knowledge and experience.
