Nuclear Safety Analysis

To learn the operations and the possible scenarios of failure of nuclear power plants of various designs through simulation models; to develop a capability to estimate the potential release of radioactive materials (the “source term”) in difference scenarios; to develop capability to locate and quantify the source of radioactive pollutants from sensor data by inverse methods; to develop models for prediction of the dispersion and deposition of radioactive pollutants. Research in this area will also serve to develop local expertise with in-depth knowledge and understanding of new generation nuclear power plant designs and operations.
